About Us

It might look like we are new to Swissies but in fact my first Swissy was  CH Hamilton’s Alpine Chance who was born in the fall of 1994 in Ft Wayne Indiana.  I was so fortunate when I began my search for a Swissy all those years ago to find a breeder, Nancy Miller, right in the same town where I lived.  Chance was an amazing dog and won his championship in the ARBA (American Rare Breed Association) as Swissies had not yet been fully accepted by the AKC.  Nancy became a good friend and was very involved in the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog Club of America.

Then in 1997 I got a beautiful girl, Hannah, from Kristin Kleeman at Derby and really worked at becoming a big part of the Swissy world.  Kristin showed Hannah to her championship.  So Chance and Hannah produced two litters with many of their puppies going on to successes of their own.

I was not active with Swissies for several years but, today is a new day and I am not far from retiring.  I called an old friend, Cathy Cooper and asked if she would help me get started back in the Swissy world.  Yes was the answer and I now have a beautiful girl, Shadetrees Joy to the World.  We call her Rada which means Joy in Russian. Rada produced her first litter in the summer of 2016 with 5 boys and 5 girls.  I kept two of the girls and traded a boy to Jana Stefancova in Slovakia for a boy from a litter that was born the same day as my girls. So we now have a house full of Swissies again.

My wife, Elena, is from Russia and an animal lover through and through.   We live in Brentwood TN.  just south of Nashville with 2 acres of yard and plenty of room. We look forward to the future and all that comes with this wonderful breed.  Dog shows, Specialties, Weight Pulls, and Trail hikes.

Owning a Swissy will change you.  Big, beautiful, smart, gentle but most of all they will love you unconditionally and become the best friend you could ever ask for. You will smile more and love a dog more than you ever thought possible. A Swissy will look at you raise one eyebrow and somehow you just know this is right.

In 2001 we acquired our first Ragdoll cat, Susie and soon thereafter Samson.  They were with us for many years until 2017.  Once we decided the house wouldn’t be the same without any Ragdolls we were fortunate to find some excellent breeders to help us get started with not only having a Ragdoll as part of the family but also to share this magnificent cat with others.  So we now will offer from time to time a litter of TICA Registered kittens and the joy it bring to us can be shared with others.
